Why choose Summer Solos?

The Summer Solos initiative by CreaPlay, a TedEd student talks recognized program, aims to provide students aged 5-18 the ability to create from scratch a monologue performance between 3 to 15 minutes over a period of 20 online sessions and 5 offline rehearsals. The 25 instructor-led sessions will culminate in a public show. Summer Solos is not just a summer camp but an avenue for students to take ownership over their stories they put out and also a safe channel to have their voice heard. Students will create their own monologues- with options to include elements like mime, music, dance and other arts to explore and hone their creativity.

1. What will my child create in the Summer Solos program?

Students will create and perform an original monologue (3–15 minutes). They can also include elements like mime, music, dance, or other art forms to express their story creatively.
2. What happens at the end of the program?

Students will perform their monologues in a public showcase and receive photos, videos, certification, and publication of their original work.
3. Are there any additional costs beyond the course fee?

No. The course fee covers all 20 sessions. Students will also receive a CreaPlay certificate and a published book featuring their writing.
4. How does the E-Portfolio help with college applications?

The E-Portfolio tracks your child’s progress across the different courses offered by CreaPlay. Students can upload performance videos and receive feedback, helping them build a record of their growth in theatre. Since extracurricular achievements are important in college applications today, the portfolio keeps their theatre journey, performances, and learning in one organized place, making it easy to showcase their creative work.
5. How can I choose an offline centre for rehearsals?

You will be able to select a nearby offline centre during the checkout/payment process. Multiple locations are available, allowing you to choose the centre that is most convenient for your child to attend the rehearsal sessions.
6. Are refunds available if my child cannot continue the program?

Yes. Refunds are available if a child is unable to continue the course. Parents can contact the CreaPlay team to initiate the process and receive assistance.
